We are staying in the Yellow Lagos Meia Praia Hotel in Lagos, Algarve Portugal. It's a luxurious 5-star hotel and it's adults-only so it's a perfect couples hotel and lovely for getting away to relax and unwind! The hotel's about a half an hour walk along the beach to the resort centre of Lagos (which we plan on exploring and venturing into later on in the week!) and it's situated on a small hill just behind the golden sandy Meia Praia beach.
These are some pictures that I took from the balcony in our room and as you can, we have a fantastic room! We booked a double room with a pool view, so we overlook the hotel's main outdoor pool, but we are also lucky enough to be at a corner of the hotel, meaning that we can see the beach, the sea and Lagos faraway in the distance!!
As for our hotel room, it is simply gorgeous - definately my favourite hotel room that I've ever stayed in!
It is much bigger than I thought it would be from looking at the holiday brochures and the hotel's website and the interior design is so modern and chic. Everything is dark wood, mirrored and cosy with a gorgeous 8ft bed and this beautiful jacuzzi bath in the centre of the room. We also have a seating area with some comfy chairs, a flat-screen television that is built into the mirrors, a mini-fridge with some treats and a balcony with some chairs.
I also took a little picture of some of the beauty treats that we were given which definately add to the five-star luxury experience! We got some shampoo, conditioner and a yummy-smelling ginger bath creme for using in a bubble bath.
Another really pretty thing about this hotel is the neon lighting! The corridors all have neon LED beams that change colours and go through every shade of the rainbow (I managed to catch our room number for a picture when it had settled on bright pink!)
The outdoor pools and exteriors of the hotel are also lit up with luminous colours and this gives a really lovely and glittering effect, especially at sunrise and at night time!
Each day of our holiday so far we have been so lazy and just totally relaxed (mainly by this gorgeous outdoor pool!) We've done abit of swimming and sunbathing, listening to music, reading books & magazines and I've even managed to fit in writing a few blog posts!
Most days, we've enjoyed lunch at the pool side café and snack bar. This smoked ham, brie cheese and sunblushed tomato panini was to die for and they also do amazing coffees and icecreams! It overlooks both the swimming pool and the beach and you can relax with your bikini on & enjoy the sunshine!
This is the main restaurant where we've had dinner every night (although, tomorrow night we are planning to go to the fancy a la carte restaurant, so will blog about that one is!). The restaurant is buffet style and is on a lovely open-air terrace so you can enjoy your dinner & drinks, overlook the water and watch the sunset.
The food is just delicious! Most nights we've had a glass of wine and enjoyed soups, salads, fresh fish, pastas, meats and the most amazing desserts! Here is a picture of my dessert tonight which was some fresh watermelon, pineapple, melon, ice cream and a couple of sweet treats!
In the evenings, the hotel has a beautiful bar and outdoor terrace and also a really comfy and luxurious lounge to sit in with big creamy sofas & lots of cushions. So far, we've spent our nights enjoying coffees, hot chocolates & cocktails, playing cards and listening to some of the singers that the hotel has for entertainment.
This hotel is so perfect for us and it's so nice to finally get a whole week to spend with my boyfriend and relax! I've decided that I never want to leave here!
